This Hypertech ThermoMaster Power Chip is designed to replace the OEM tuning chip in your vehicle. The hardware is a direct replacement for the stock chip, so no soldering or re-wiring is required, but instead of the stock tuning program it contains a Hypertech Power Tuning program that can improve your vehicle's performance, torque, and horsepower by better controlling the engine's air/fuel ratio and spark advance. The program is designed for (and should be used in conjunction with) a low-temperature thermostat, so it can provide maximum performance in situations where extreme heat is a factor, such as emergency vehicles, desert driving, and competition. It takes advantage of the more powerful air/fuel mixture created by the cooler, denser air, and temperature-sensitive functions (such as a minimum temperature for torque converter lock-up, closed loop operation, increased turbo boost pressures, and\or early fan turn-on -- depending on your vehicle's particular year\make\model\options) are adjusted for a cooler temperature thermostat. Installation can be accomplished in under half an hour using only hand tools, and it is easy to switch back to the stock chip and programming when needed.
